Lafayette Gatling Jr. President, Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer, Licensed Insurance Producer

As President, he is involved in all aspects of the daily operations. He grew up in Harvey, IL  and graduated from Thornton Township High School also in Harvey, IL. He went on to receive his Associates degree as an Electrical Engineer at Illinois Technical College. While working in the Funeral Industry, he went to Worsham Mortuary College and graduated with a degree in Funeral Directing and Embalming. He has been a licensed Funeral Director/ Embalmer for over 30 years. Lafayette is very active in his community serving on the board of his HOA . He’s considered a leader in his community with a deep compassion for helping others. Lafayette and his family are Board Members of the GJT Foundation because of their passion to help the youth of their community. Lafayette and his wife our members of New Faith International Baptist Church in Matteson, IL.  Lafayette and his wife Dina are joined by their three Sons and two Daughter in laws in the business. His son, Lafayette III has graduated from Worsham and sons Dominic and Donovan plan to attend in the near future.

Dina Marie Gatling Vice-President, General Manager, Design Team Member, Licensed Insurance Producer

As Vice-President, Dina is involved with the day to day management of the company. She grew up in the Chicagoland area and graduated from Thornton Township High School where she met her husband of 36 years Lafayette Gatling Jr and now have three sons, two daughter in laws and three granddaughters. She received her BA at Governor’s State University in Small Business Administration and a Minor in Marketing. Dina worked as a District Sales Manager for 22 years before launching her own Catering business in 2017, Dina Marie’s Catering. She Co-founded the Ciara Alexandria Gatling Memorial Scholarship along with her husband to cope with the death of their only daughter by giving back to youth. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Gloria J Taylor Foundation.  She is very active in her community and her church . Dedicated to serving others, she looks forward to offering comfort to families in the Chicago land area.

Lafayette III is a Licensed Funeral Director, Embalmer, and Licensed Insurance Producer. He is a graduate from North Carolina State University where he met the love of life Carletta, and received his Bachelors in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. Lafayette is a father of three children and will soon acquire his MBA from Concordia University with more scholastic endeavors to come. With almost 20 years experience in the funeral industry, Lafayette has a strong passion to ease the grieving process for families as best as he can.

Dominic Gatling Funeral Director Assistant

Graduated from a pristine University in South Bend, Indiana with a B.A in Psychology in pursuit to obtain his M.A in Industrial/Organization Psychology. He worked in the Funeral industry as a Funeral Director’s Assistant for 7 years. Under that position he prepared, carried out and lead funeral services for families in the Chicago area. Dominic’s leadership and compassion were seen and appreciated not only amongst his coworkers, but the families that entrusted their love one’s care in his hands.

Donovan Angelo Gatling Funeral Director Assistant

A bright, humble intellectual with a BA in Environmental Science and a minor in Africana Studies. He has a passion for science and the nature of people that live in our world. Our environment is important and so are the people that live in it. Donovan’s goal is to help those in need to the best of his ability. With 8 years of funeral service experience, he is devoted to the needs of those dealing with a loss of a love one. Considered empathic by others, he lives by his favorite quote, “Treat others how you would want to be treated.”

Carletta Monet Gatling Administrative Assistant

Carletta is a graduate of North Carolina State University where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology. It was at North Carolina State that she met her husband Lafayette III. Originally from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Carletta has always had a desire for serving others. This passion has cultivated her professional career as Carletta has many years of experience working in the aging field of social services supporting older adults and their family caregivers. Her zeal for service continues through Gatling and Sons as an Administrative Assistant. Carletta is also the proud mother of three beautiful children.

Jasmyn Bryanne Gatling Funeral Director Assistant, Administrative Assistant, Design Team Member

A graduate of Columbia College Chicago with a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts, she combines her passion for the arts—particularly acting, where she met her husband, Dominic Gatling while filming a Chicago TV series—with over a decade of management and administrative experience. A Licensed Insurance Producer and former health and wellness professional, she has successfully led teams of 30+ employees while developing strong leadership and organizational skills. Born in Fort Riley, Kansas as an Army brat, she grew up living in multiple states and countries, which instilled adaptability, cultural awareness, and a dedication to serving others. Today, she brings that same compassion and creativity to the funeral profession, working as a Funeral Director Assistant, Administrative Assistant, and valued member of the design team.”
